PARTY!
Charli, Dan, and I attended a surprise 70th birthday party last night for Mr. Prettyman (wonderful time). Charli was the life of the party. She refused to take a nap, she had to be a part of the action which means Mommy and Daddy got more sleep last night!! Party on Charli!
Here she is in her party outfit!!! She loved it!

Daddy's Girl
Yesterday Charli had her third doctor's appointment and her very first shot; she was very brave. Dr. Mike gave her a tweety bird band-aid after and we were on our way. Can you believe she is 10 lbs already and her next appointment is her 2 months! She is definitely Daddy's little girl and has him wrapped around her finger. The first thing everyone says is she looks like Dan because of the spike but wait until you see this picture of her after falling asleep on Daddy's chest last night. Talk about a spike!!

Newborn???
It is hard to imagine that at 5 weeks old trying to take a picture of her staying still would be so hard. She is a mover and a shaker as she has been since in the womb. It is also hard to imagine that she is already growing out of newborn diapers and into size 1. She is changing and growing every minute of every day!
The fact that she lives off my breast milk and our care, not to mention this overwhelming love we have for her consumes me, there is nothing more powerful than the bond between a mother and her child. I could just stare at her for hours and I do. She simply falls asleep on my chest and it is the most wonderful feeling I have ever had. My whole life changed as I knew it would, but I never knew it could be this good.

Necessities
Just a word to the wise to make life easier. There are a few things for my home thus far that I find necessary and could not live without. For those of you who have either a Chef and/or a cleaning company read no further. For those of you who do it yourself, these are musts and I don't know how I ever lived without them.
For cooking- JA Henckels knife set or at least the Chef's knife(use a 20% off at Bed Bath and Beyond)
For vacuuming-Get a Dyson, I don't care the model just get one. They have them at Kohl's. They honor the lowest price you can find. Use a 30% off and get Kohl's bucks. Its practically free.
For cleaning- Magic Eraser- If you have not used this you have no idea what you are in for... Buy the scotch brand or Mr. Clean, just do yourself a favor and buy it! (Thanks Mom!)

SOOOOO BIG!!!
Anniversary
Dan and I met 4 years ago today. We met at Mullen's Irish Bar in Wrigleyville on tax day after a Tuesday night Cubs game. Isn't there a rule you'll never met your husband at a bar...I did! I was living 13 houses from Wrigley Field at the time and Dan went to the game with some other coaches. We were both teaching in the same district but had never met. We had been in the same places and yet never crossed paths.
If you know the story then you know we briefly met there a few months before under the craziest of circumstances...and so it goes Dan wanted to go back to Mullen's "to see if this blond girl is there." And the rest is history. Dan surprised me with this ring today in Aquamarine, Charli's birthstone, and planned a special day. Charli and I are both so lucky!

Happy One Month!!
Charli is one month old today!!!! Wow how times flies and what a big girl! We went out to lunch today and she met my girlfriend Krystal's one year old son, Brayden, and then we took a trip with Daddy to Marianos for groceries. Marianos just so happens to be the first place Charli went to when she was 4 days old! Here are some pictures of Charli's big outing.

Charli's UJ
This week Charli met her Uncle John from Colorado, who I like to call "UJ". She just loves him and the feeling is mutual. While holding her you could see him go down memory lane thinking of his own kids, Carson and Carly. Holding a baby can take you to so many wonderful places in your life. John was right, life will never be the same it just got a millions times better than you could have ever imagined! Charli also spent time with her Grandma and Grandpa and even her Great-Grandma this week.
Charli is such a wonderful baby. She is so happy and has such a personality for a baby who is not even a month old. She is very alert and loves to swing and punch her arms and kick her feet. Her eyes are so big and blue and her hair is starting to lighten up. She is not yet able to see us, but it won't be long. She is alert for a lot of the day and eats about every 2 hours. She is up at night at 11pm, 2am, and 4am like clockwork. She is already outgrowing her newborn clothes and her newborn diapers. She moves around so much and makes so many facial expressions we have nicknamed her our "Little Monkey."
